Summer Course 2015

We've come to the end of a great summer course. We've been out on the river every Thursday evening. There have been some great warm summer evenings where we've been teaching kayaking to 20 beginners. We started the course with a Come and Try it session where over 30 people tried out kayaking. We then ran a course following th 1* syllabus and 12 new members have achieved their 1* award. There were also lots of current CUCC members in Cambridge over summer who took the opportunity to get out and enjoy messing around in the sun.

Alps Trip 2015

The annual trip to the Alps was once again a great success. We teamed up with OUCKC for this years trip and covered over 3000 miles, travelling through 7 countries. We paddled over 30 sections with everything from tree filled ditches in a thunder storm to big volume in 35C sun. To find out more about what we got up to check out the video.

Varsity 2015

Freestyle

Last weekend we had our annual Varsity competition against Oxford University Canoe and Kayak Club. Sadly it was an overall loss for Cambridge. However, every event was closely fought so a massive congratulations to everyone that took part. We did manage to triumph over the dark blues in some events with both the Men's Polo and Men's Freestyle teams recording wins. Final congratulations go to individuals who got top 3 finishes - Shahid Wahab for 2nd in Freestyle and to Alex Ross for 3rd in both Freestyle and Marathon. A full report will be written up soon.
