Teesdale Trip 2017

Friday 24th November saw 11 keen whitewater paddlers and one polo player from CUCC journey northwards, and after long van, car and train trips eventually assemble in a bunkhouse in Teesdale. The previous week had been promisingly rainy but constant monitoring of Rain Chasers revealed that the high levels hadn’t held. The Tees was running though, so there was plenty of kayaking to be done!

Varsity 2017

The results of the 2017 Varsity Canoe Polo and Marathon are:

Mens Marathon: 23 - 22 (Cambridge Win)

Womens Marathon: 21 - 24 (Oxford Win)

Mens Polo: 3 - 2 (Cambridge Win)

Womens Polo: 5 - 2 (Cambridge Win)

BUCS Canoe Polo 2017

BUCS Canoe Polo 2017 Ladies Team

CUCC sent two teams to the recent BUCS Canoe Polo Championships – 28th-30th April. We had a fantastic weekend – with hotly contested games, much improvement in our play and most importantly a fun (and very very colourful) 80’s themed party! Thanks to everyone who drove and refereed throughout the weekend!

Cam Marathon 2017

Race report from the 2017 Cam Marathon Hasler race:

Sunny Sunday saw CUCC members (racing in the colours of various clubs) take on the Cambridge marathon race organised by CCC, with a few giving their go at racing in ‘skinny boats’ after only getting in them for the first time a matter of weeks ago.

Devizes to Westminster

Club Captain Sam Plummer, racing in the colours of his home Leighton Buzzard Canoe Club, won the singles division of the 2017 Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Race. Read a full report in Varsity
